I came across this question asked by one of my friend and got interested to write about it thinking maybe there are also some people who might be interested to know what exactly is an article spinner or content spinner.

There might be some confusion or maybe just different definition by different people between Spinner, Unspinner and ReWriter. I shall not say what I'm saying is the correct or standard definition but this is what I thought it should be or more likely to be.

First the most obvious one, ReWriter. ReWriter simply means a tool that helps you write or rewrite articles. It assist you while you are still manually writing each and every word yourself but probably with some synonyms help and curly brackets help. Meaning to say with easy clicks and manipulations, you can write or rewrite articles into a spun format article easily. A spun format article is articles that have lots of {|||} in it, these brackets are used to contain different synonyms of the same meaning to make the article has many different variation of words used.

A Spinner. Spinner is often meant several ways. Some people take spinner as a tool like rewriter, some people take spinner as a tool that you put a spun format article in and will generate or spin different versions of articles for you. The word is used correctly in whichever way you want but I thought it's more likely to be a tool that automatically creates spun format articles for you with a database of synonyms. My Vexez Content Spinner does that and I have my own database of synonyms to maintain. Similarly, if you've heard of "The Best Spinner", it does the same.

Unspinner, a term lesser used or seen around because people always talk about spin and spinner. I thought Unspinner would be a better term for a tool that allows you to throw in your spun formatted article and it will generate a number of different versions of ready made articles for you according to the synonyms in the spun format.

I hope this gives a general idea of spinners online and what are the terms often used. Although spinners or spun articles are not very liked by Google or other search engine due to duplicate content across the internet, it can be useful in some ways or another.

Wow I was finding how to allow visitors that are visiting my sites to actually login to facebook to kind of link the account. Something like login to my wordpress blog with their facebook account linked. So I went around searching and came across this wordpress plugin, WPBOOK. So I tried.

This plugin is easy to find and it's a free opensource project by John Eckman. Very simple thing to follow and I thought I should share this if you happen to need something like this on your self hosted wordpress blog. Basically it's setting up a facebook application and allow people in facebook to reach your site's content with an application that you could invite. More social interactions to expose your site. Quite fun!

Simply go to your plugins directory in your wordpress dashboard, add new and search for WPBOOK. Once you installed and activated WPBOOK, it has some simple instructions to follow. If you haven't got a facebook developer account, you need one because it's dealing with facebook apps. Simply register one, it's free anyway, and "Set up new application". Fill in information you know, those URL simply put your wordpress blog's. For some of the URL, it will require a slash at the end like this - http://www.vexez.com/ instead of just http://www.vexez.com. It's weird but it worked that way if you happen to get validation fail.

You do not need to fill in all URL in the settings, just get some important ones done and try to save. When you save they will try to validate, fix those validation failed errors and you should be good to go. Get the Application Keys, API Keys and Canvas Page URL to put in the wordpress plugin settings. Read through the instruction and you will be required to allow some extended permission grant from facebook. Just click that link in the settings and grant it.

Okay by now your Facebook Application should be done and showing your blog's content. You need some users before you could submit to facebook apps directory, so hang on and start inviting friends manually!

Support my app too - http://apps.facebook.com/vexezweb/

Just thought that I shall create a post on the updates I made on this website itself. Several things done and had fun playing around with wordpress, facebook and PHP codings. Good thing I'm one who likes programming pretty much and PHP is really fun and powerful. Also those tools I've created, but not completed, earlier are all based on PHP.

Firstly, I made some appearance changes on the site itself with some feedbacks I got from Digital Point forums. I made the header area smaller again, I suppose now it does not irritate people anymore. Did resizing for CSS styles and those related images. Edited the background, the one you see now with slight orange slanted stripes. A suggestion by one of the DP members, to make it related to the header theme but very slight yellowish. Hope it looks nicer now. And added those boxes for all my sidebar items, previously my adsense sponsored links and share buttons are all dangling around over at the sidebar, now they are all in boxes. Would really like to hear more suggestions and feedbacks for improvements, shoot some comments here :)

Next, I shall talk about some stuffs related to wordpress and PHP. As we all know that wordpress is a PHP based blogging platform, it's really nice to play around with the editor within the dashboard with some PHP codes. I also enabled PHP on my wordpress posts with a wordpress plugin called Exec-PHP. There are a few plugins that does the same but this one seems to be working well for me, which is how I made those tools on my pages to work. Only thing that doesn't go really well is the wordpress "wautop" and "wtexturize" filters. Due to PHP codings on posts and page, those auto beautifying stuffs has to be disabled to avoid errors. So I've got to add <p></p> myself on all the posts now.

Lastly, an interesting thing I've added on the sidebar you can see now is the facebook fan box. I created a fan page on facebook for this website to update things going on here for people to follow on a fan page. Quite easy to make one and it looks good to have some stuffs like that on the sidebar. Simply go to any facebook fan page, if you're logged in to facebook, look at the bottom left of the fan page. You should see a create page button. Try one and put it on your website, it's nice to have. I'll try to explore more into the facebook fan page thingy, the FBML thing for application seems kinda fun. Will explore it some day when I'm free and the interest arouse.

Okay that's all for this post. Follow and support me on my facebook fan page. Throw some suggestions, feedbacks and discussions around and I'll try to response your request. Have fun!

Motherboard selection is often neglected and end up with one that you probably don't know much about. In fact, there isn't much very critical difference between those motherboards that your processor will be using.

For me, I did a little findings about several motherboards and personally get more interested in Gigabyte's products. I came across a site talking about Gigabyte's staff presenting on ASUS cheating users with their advertisement, quite an interesting topic to read on but I lost the link. Google about it you should be able to find it. It's some news years ago but it just dropped my faith in ASUS for now at least.

Some reference from Tom's hardware on motherboard features here
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/budget-p55-motherboard,2436-2.html

Great information there if you continue seeing the following pages until conclusion. Although it might not be benchmarking the motherboard I'm looking at but it is motherboards for Core i5-i7 series. I'll be just taking it as a reference for the brands, anyway Gigabyte P55A-UD4P is much newer than those listed there.

So from some quick reference over there, you could see specific features of each motherboard. You will then notice the slight difference wouldn't be much of your concern because you probably won't need them as most of the necessary ones are included. But having more is always good though. So I'm glad to see Gigabyte has slightly better features than some of the rest, not the best but at least top 2 I will say.

Move onto the benchmarking results, their results are really close. You won't actually feel the difference significant on the end user side. What important for me that I'm looking at is the power consumption and heat. Gigabyte has the lowest heat among all and Gigabyte P55A-UD4P has even better phase power VRM design.

So for me, I'll be going for Gigabyte for sure. The only decision factor would be UD4P or UD3P because there is a small gap in the price too. Will check the updated price again and try to get everything within my budget to get UD4P.

My ideal choice for now should be - Gigabyte P55A-UD4PYou now can buy Plavix online

One is performance benchmark, the other is power consumption and thermal charts. These are relatively recent charts so the results are up to date. Performance wise, it's quite obvious and easy to understand. It's always tempting to get the best which is 5870 with Vapor-X cooling but don't forget the price, it can be extreme. Also the performance chart did not include the latest ATI 59xx series which suppose to be better than 5870 but have yet to be tested. Having 5770 ranked at 14 above most of the rest is more than sufficient for me.

Let's take a look at the power and thermal charts. Although they did not include 5770 with Vapor-X technology, we can always do some self analysis with existing information. With Vapor-X, power consumption increased slightly compared to without. So for power it isn't much a difference. Among those listed ones, 5770 is one of the lowest power consumption. Great news for me there ^^

Thermal wise, I don't quite understand why 5870 can be so low in temperature and 5770 has no difference in both idle and load. So we shall not put full trust on the chart but just referencing. So Vapor-X actually reduced idle temperature by around 4-5 degrees and peak load temperature by up to 15 degrees. Amazing technology for cooling there and I've read from others reviewing that it is actually quieter than other Graphic Cards. This will conclude the Vapor-X technology with low temperature and low noise. Which is why I chose Vapor-X of Sapphire in the very first place.

After facts and research comparisons, the final deciding factor is of course the price. As I've just checked those hardware parts prices lately, the price for 5770 and 5870 has quite a huge gap. Not mentioning 5970 which is close to 4 times the price of 5770. It's tempting to go for 5850/5870 Vapor-X but I just feel that it's too expensive.

That would result me in staying in my ATI Radeon Sapphire Vapor-X HD5770 which will be sufficient for certain high end usage with the temperature and noise advantages.

Of course, a compressor tool would also be able to decompress or extract from a compressed or archived file.

What's so good about 7-zip?

Ever since I learnt about this tool, it has always been one of my first few installation after I do a format on my computers. It is very easy to download, install and use. You can find it at http://www.7-zip.org/ , a good to remember domain where you can always find it. Download the appropriate installation and install it now, it would only take few minutes or even lesser. After installation, you will see a 7-zip menu when you right click on files and folders. It's idiot proof, just do whatever you want from there. Extract, compress, 7z, zip or even archived it to more complicated compressions.

One of my favourite in 7z is the 7z compression itself. You will get a .7z extension compressed file. 7z compression has amazing compression ratio. Do some testing yourself on huge document files and folders. Try several methods of compressing. There's no doubt in 7z being the best in speed and compression. Even compressing it to .zip is much faster and produce a slightly smaller file than normal windows compression. I love using .7z extension to backup files and storage purpose. One bad thing about .7z is there isn't much people using, those who uses .7z are probably developers like me.

Some additional amazing functions a .7z can do, it can even extract .ISO file. Or rather, it could actually extract most of the compressed files I've encountered.

Supported formats:

Packing / unpacking: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR

Unpacking only: ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, DMG, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MSI, NSIS, RAR, RPM, UDF, WIM, XAR and Z.

Download and try it now - http://www.7-zip.org/

Over the weekend I've went to down physically to check on computer hardware parts price. Several things changed my consideration slightly. One of them I would like to share here would be Processor.

From online research and findings, I do know Core i7 860 and 920 has close performance and price. But after taking a real look on the prices, it seems that 920 happen to be cheaper than 860 when they come in bundle of Mobo+Processor. In this case, it will affect the RAM as well. A 920 processor will be using Tri-Channel Memory instead of Dual-Channel.

As I'm going for 64bit OS with 6GB or 8GB RAM, the RAM change does affect my computer built. It will then become 6GB or 9GB, meaning 3x2GB or 3x3GB. 6GB will be nice for me but the combination of 3x2GB is slightly more expensive than 2x3GB. This somehow draws the price closer of Mobo+Processor+Memory.

I think I would need further consideration on this and look into the price further. Does having Core i7 920 with Tri-Channel perform better than Core i7 860 on Dual-Channel? Will the price be close? Stay with me I'll keep updating...

It is often said that the more memory you have the faster your computer would be. But in fact, it is not only about RAM. You need to look into several parts as well. Understanding how to build a fast computer need some knowledge on several different parts of the computer.

DDR3 is a newer technology compared to DDR2 and is NOT compatible with DDR2. Saying so, it means you need to know if your processor supports or is it compatible with DDR3 Memories. DDR3 is able to transfer at twice the data rate of DDR and is only supported by new processors. For further understanding of DDR3, you can check WIKIPEDIA.

Choosing the Bus Speed between 1066Mhz and 1333Mhz is another mystery to many people. But one reference is always again your processor. You must know the range of bus speed your processor is supports. This information often tells you which bus speed should you choose for your memory. Another factor regarding processor is how much maximum RAM does it support. For my case Intel Core i7 860, simply check Intel website for specifications.

A quick check you should see this processor supports DDR3 1066/1333 memories and a total of up to 16GB. Understanding compatibility and support is important to ensure everything goes in place. Some more consideration you should think about is stuffs related to your motherboard. How many memory slots does my motherboard support? For my case, the motherboard I chose has 4 memory slot. This means I can put up to 4 piece of RAM on my motherboard.

RAM is one if the easiest part of a computer to upgrade. It does not have any wiring to meddle with, all you need to do is plug it into the correct slot. Knowing how many slots does my motherboard has allows me to plan what combination of RAM do I want to get. Keeping in mind that my processor supports Dual-Channel, I would want a combination of 2 piece of RAM forming up the total amount I want. Intel Core i7 920 and above onwards will be Tri-Channel memory.

My consideration here about RAM is I want a slightly higher RAM but only using 2 of the slots. This way I will utilize the Dual-Channel so I could have the memory to run faster. Also when using 2 instead of all 4, it will reduce the power consumption hence reducing the total amount of heat generated. If you do not know about it, those piece of RAM you plug into your motherboard can actually get really hot over time. Putting 4 piece of memory side by side will accumulate heat and if your cooling system and ventilation in your computer is not good, you might end up with undesirable overheat problems.

So I chose 2 x 4GB = 8GB of total RAM. But this is still in consideration. I do understand having 2 x 2GB = 4GB of RAM is more than sufficient for most of the things we do. I just want a slightly higher range so I could last much longer if future applications would take up more memories. If you heard about this, recently there is 3GB RAM available, so 2 x 3GB = 6GB RAM is also in my consideration. But I've heard 3GB pieces are quite costly.

Will confirm again when I do a price check myself.
